Finally handed my dissertation in! Hoooraaaay!
So I’ve come back home to Wales for a bit of recovery which so far has included eating creme eggs, wandering aimlessly around the house to avoid doing essay readings and cuddling my beaut of a cat.
Spending the day with Lola has made me realise how wonderful and important cats are and has made me desperately miserable about the fact that when I’m at home in Edinburgh I am completely cat-less. Here are a few reasons that cats are the very best.
Maybe this is because Lola is old and fluffy and needy but there is nothing better than having a cat to cuddle. Who needs one of those teddy bears you heat up in the microwave when you have a warm fluffy cat?
They are strong independent cats and they don’t need no human. They really are just such cool cats though. It’s almost as though they’re providing exemplary behaviour for us to observe and follow.
THEY’RE THE PERFECT LIE IN PARTNER
Who better to share a lie in with than a cat? No judgement whatsoever. You finally roll out of bed on Sunday afternoon and they kind of just look at you like ‘where the hell do you think you’re going?’
THEY ARE SO LOW MAINTENANCE
They just kind of do their own thing. They are wordly-wise animals that can look after themselves. Just open your front door and out they will frolick into the neighbourhood to hang out with/fight all the locals. No hassle whatsoever.
THEY’RE SO CUTE
I mean, they’re really really really cute.
EVEN THEIR SNORING IS CUTE
This is coming from someone who hates all noises ever. Their snoring is actually adorable.
THEY TAKE THEMSELVES TO THE TOILET
Poo is the worst part of having a pet and with cats you don’t even need to deal with it!
THEY CLEAN THEMSELVES
They basically look after you.
THEY ARE AN INSTANT MOOD LIFTER
There is no joy like just sitting and watching a cat when it starts going bat-shit-crazy and running all over the place.
All in all, they are the pet of all pets and I need to get a Lola substitute for my Scotland life.
Hooray for the end of dissertation! And hooray for cats!
