My first trip to Scandinavia. I knew exactly what I was expecting as soon as we landed.. everyone to look like models, expensive alcohol, fish everywhere and ice.
I was right about pretty much everything- except the ice.
Embarking on an adventure to Oslo last week, what excited me most about Norway’s capital was the fact that it was a total fashion hub.
Style was in some ways similar to here in the UK, but the vibe was so much more effortlessly cool- even without that anticipated ice!
Blonde, tanned girls swanned the streets in cream summer dresses but the multiculturalism of Oslo also brought out a more interesting side to the trends of the city.
Vintage tartan t-shirts, bindis and pastel hair colours dotted the city’s squares and shopping areas and contrasted beautifully with the more sleek, monochrome urban trends that were also flying around.
The thing I loved most about Norwegian street style though, was the trainers. Everyone was wearing them!
Girls in dresses, men in suits, women on their way to the office, they all made their outfits that much cooler with the addition of a pair of New Balance or Converse. I have never been a sports shoe kinda gal, but I was immediately converted. That being said, amazonian blonde girls with outrageous cheekbones do seem to have the ability to make anything seem incredible.
So here are a few snaps of some outfits that caught my eye!
Hopefully by the next time I have a city break, I have a real camera too…
